Theoretically this item sounds sturdy.
Cons:
Practically, it is not!

One of the attaching clamps broke into three pieces as I reattached it to my grandson's ski (age 4, weight 33.5 lbs, height 3' 3"). The first time I had not tightened the clamp enough and it popped off. It was as though the clamp was made out of cheap plastic. I purchased a replacement edgie wedgie" which did not break into three pieces when I attached it to the ski.

Bought the competitors product however it didn't fit the thick tips of my daughters skis, this easy wedge product was wide enough to work on her skis, Thank you Buckmans for exchanging!
