Salomon's X-Drive 8.3 all mountain ski is an ideal option for advanced intermediate to expert skiers who ski primarily on piste, but plan to begin exploring more varied terrain.  The Light Density Woodcore and Semi Sandwich construction permit the ski to pivot through tight spaces and smear over variable snow conditions when exploring off piste.  However, should the skier in question choose to remain on piste, the Rocker Stabilizer, Titanal Laminate, and Basalt layer will dampen the ski so high speed maneuvers on trail are more than possible.

Features:

+Light Density Woodcore

+Semi Sandwich construction

+X-Chassis

+Rocker Stabilizer

+Single Ti Laminate

+Basalt layer

+All Terrain Rocker 2.0

This ski is such a great value. Being a more advanced skier this ski holds up to everything I threw at it. So much fun on the east coast, and covers such a wide range of skill sets.

I skied this at Stratton in single digit temps and very firm conditions. The ski gripped the hardpack and it never got nervous at speed. I felt like i was snapping off quick turns but silky smooth. I loved it!!

FAST & STIFF
Posted by Isaiah C (Certified Winter Enthusiast) on 10/19/2016

Pros: Quick edge to edge and down the hill. Not choppy at all very stable.
Cons: The ski doesnt want time off it just always wants to go go go.

This ski is very fast. It is also very stiff. The ski likes to be ridden hard. It is not a fan of slow turns due to all of the carbon inside. If you are looking for a stiff ski that wants to be skied and not have any time off this is the ski for you.

This is a terrific ski for an intermediate to advanced skier who spends most of his time on groomed runs but occasionally wants to dabble of Piste. The ski feels light, is quick edge to edge, has good grip on the hard pack but is soft enough to let you play in the bumps. This ski is a lot of fun.
