K2's BioFlex Konic Construction uses a heavier, denser wood near the edges of the ski for responsiveness and control, while a lighter, less dense wood in the center of the core keeps the weight to a minimum, while adding some forgiveness. Hybritech Sidewalls have a slight cap construction near the tip and tail of the ski that allows you to skid a turn if needed, and a vertical sidewall on the majority of the ski that adds torsional strength and edge hold.
