I bought this jacket to replace a Columbia one I have had for a number of years. I really wanted a ski jacket that would keep me warm while skiing, but not look frumpy, as I strolled through an urban city. My first choice was to purchase the same brand as my husband's and go with Spyder. However, after investigating the workmanship, details, style and quality of Descente jackets, I chose Descente. This attractive blue jacket, with its luxurious texture, looks gorgeous on and off the ski slope. The only criticism I had with this jacket is the removable fur-trimmed hood. I recognize that raccoons play a role in our ecosystem. Nevertheless, I am not particularly fond of raccoons and consider them a nuisance animal, so I removed the raccoon fur from the hood. This is my first time shopping with Buckman's and this retailer's customer service exceeded my expectations.
