Buckmans enjoys the snowiest season on record

With over 70 inches of snow fall so far this season, Philadelphia-area based Buckman’s Ski and Snowboard Shops is enjoying the snowiest season on record. Snow totals like this that have not been seen since the blizzard of 1996, resulting in record store traffic as people head to the slopes.

“I cannot recall another season where we’ve sold this many PA discount lift tickets,” said one Buckman’s employee. “Our customers purchased 1,000 discount lift tickets to one resort this past weekend alone.”

Questions about ski and snowboard resorts that may have lingered due to last season’s economy have been answered this year. “All these winter storms have more people skiing and snowboarding. It's great for us and great for the industry as a whole,” said one Buckman’s manager. “The success of the Americans in the winter Olympics have helped as well.”

Popular items like ski and snowboard helmets, winter sleds, and kids’ ski socks have been in high demand. Buckman employees love to see their customers having fun in the snow, and they are happy to see that more and more people are conscious of safety concerns as well. Anyone at Buckman’s will tell you that helmets are a must for anyone who plans to ski or snowboard.

With more snow in the forecast, it looks like the people of the Northeast will have a few more weeks to enjoy skiing and snowboarding before Spring arrives…and that’s just fine with Buckmans!
